I am a STRONG proponent of water baptism and have a hard time understanding how ministers of the faith could leave this out of the Great Commission. Its glossed over as if irrelevant. I ABSOLUTELY disagree with excluding water baptism in the steps to Salvation. We can all go to different scriptures, but an area of error that I believe the church has done is turn baptism into a "proclamation of faith". The Bible CLEARLY says for the REMISSION OF SINS. After repentance.

But back to the tongues, I was praying and started speaking in tongues. I didn't know what I was doing but was weeping and praising and I asked God, "what does this mean?" I mean, I understood tongues but didn't know what the point was. Its direct communication with the Father. It is my pray closet language. I am not one to pray publicly in the spirit, but to deny the gifts today, TO ME, is to deny the Holy Spirit Himself.

I did become a new creation. I was a party girl before this and would see strange faces on my apartment walls when getting high (demons). I got the pictures back and recognized those faces in the water before going down in water and when I arose, the water is clear. I firmly believe I was delivered of abominable things.

I was baptized in water at 19. To save a huge backstory, it was a small Apostolic Pentecostal Church that I wasn't a member of, just a gal off the street. This sect believes that there is evidence of speaking in tongues, after baptism, of being filled with the Holy Spirit. I do have the gift of tongues because I believe they must have prayed fervently for it for me. I only went for a very short period of time and had no understanding of what it even meant. But my baptism was very POWERFUL.

Descriptive use of tongues in Acts. Prescriptive use in the assembly in Paul’s Epistle to the Corinthians the same book that defines the gospel and prescribed instructions for the Lords Supper! Oh and church discipline! It’s like the discipleship 1 Manuel for the church; what to do such as examine ourselves and that our motive is always charity and what not to do like selfishly use gifts
